FlowTrem2 is a complete high-performance double-locking tremolo system for 6- and 7-string guitars. It keeps the established Floyd Rose Original-style operating principle and mounting footprint while redesigning the primary mechanical system around Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5), gauge-dependent V-saddle support, extended adjustment geometry, the MONOLITH block system and the KMS OmniPort arm interface.
Where the guitar already uses the established Original-style footprint, FlowTrem2 installs as a direct replacement without routing or structural modification. Final fit still depends on the actual pivot geometry, cavity and selected block clearance.

FlowTrem2 is designed as one coordinated titanium tremolo architecture. Baseplate, saddles, saddle mounting parts, MONOLITH block and principal locking and adjustment components are not conventional parts selectively upgraded to titanium; they are designed to work together as one system.
Grade 5 Titanium Architecture, Tone & Response
The primary tremolo components are CNC-machined from Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5). The material combines comparatively low mass with high strength, stiffness and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for the highly loaded and closely fitted parts of a double-locking tremolo.
The intended FlowTrem2 response is defined less by simple brightness than by definition and control:
- Fast attack and clearly defined transients
- Tight low frequencies and strong string separation
- Reduced low-mid congestion
- Precise response under high gain and in lower tunings
- Long, even decay with a stable fundamental and separated harmonics
- Direct dynamic response to picking, muting and vibrato input
The result comes from the complete mechanical system — material, mass, saddle geometry, contact surfaces, baseplate, MONOLITH block, guitar construction and setup — rather than from titanium as an isolated component.
Saddle and Adjustment Architecture
Gauge-Dependent V-Saddle Support
FlowTrem2 uses a precisely machined V-shaped string contact. Different string diameters settle to different depths:
- thinner strings sit deeper
- thicker strings sit higher
This creates gauge-dependent support height while keeping the string securely centered. The benefit is not the elimination of saddle filing — conventional Floyd-style saddles are not normally filed — but the different way the V geometry supports strings of different diameters.
Blind String-Locating Recess
Inside the locking-insert cavity, a small blind recess receives the cut end of the string beneath the locking insert. It keeps the string aligned during clamping and helps the insert engage consistently without requiring excessive screw force. The recess is not a through-hole.
Increased Fine-Tuner Travel
The beveled underside of the saddle allows more downward saddle movement before it reaches the surrounding bridge geometry. The exact additional travel depends on saddle height and intonation position, so it is described as an increased usable range rather than one universal millimeter value.
2 mm More Usable Intonation Range
The FlowTrem2 baseplate moves the bend line 2 mm farther rearward and uses a 50° rear section. Together with the saddle geometry, this provides 2 mm more usable rearward intonation range than the conventional Floyd Rose-style reference geometry — particularly useful with heavier gauges, lower tunings and setups already close to their rear adjustment limit.
Fine-Tuner Architecture Without the Permanent Tension Plate
Standard FlowTrem2 omits the conventional permanent Fine Tuner Tension Plate beneath the String Locking Screws. Under normal string tension, the proven fine-tuner operating principle remains unchanged: the fine tuner acts on the String Locking Screw and string tension keeps the mechanism positively engaged.
When the tremolo is unstrung, a saddle can therefore have a small amount of vertical movement. Players who prefer the saddles to remain lightly supported during string changes can temporarily screw the Fine-Tuners fully down. This is optional, not required.
A conventional Tension Plate configuration can be added deliberately with the dedicated KMS support sheet; because this adds approximately 1.5 mm to the underside stack, the MONOLITH selection must then be checked again.
MONOLITH Tremolo Block System
MONOLITH is the Grade 5 titanium block system developed for FlowTrem2. The correct block length is selected for the individual guitar rather than supplied as one universal size.

The 30 and 35 mm configurations each include one 2 mm spacer and a pre-installed Spring Retainer. The 42 mm block is supplied without a spacer and without a Spring Retainer; one or two 2 mm spacers can still be added where required.
Select the block from the actual body thickness, cavity depth, rear-cover clearance, spring position and intended tremolo movement. A nominal block length should not be copied blindly from another tremolo because standard FlowTrem2 omits the conventional underside plate/support stack and therefore changes the effective spring-cavity reach.

OmniPort and FlowBars
OmniPort is the FlowTrem2 arm socket system. It fits a nominal 9 mm baseplate opening and accepts the matched 6 mm KMS FlowBars.
Both supplied FlowBars use the same geometry and lower click groove. Inserting the arm engages the internal spring clip with a defined click, while two O-rings support a controlled fit. The arm-mounted adjustment and retention cap then:
- sets rotational resistance
- removes unwanted play and wobble
- secures the arm against pull-out
Every FlowTrem2 includes two FlowBars:
- Stainless-Steel FlowBar — the robust all-purpose choice for frequent stage use and forceful tremolo techniques.
- Commercially Pure Titanium (Grade 2) FlowBar — exceptionally light and responsive in feel; it should not be forced against the mechanical limits of the tremolo.
Floyd Rose and compatible Schaller 6 mm collar-style arms can also work with OmniPort. They retain their own collar-based adjustment and retention rather than using the lower KMS click groove.

The MONOLITH block and Spring Retainer remain sanded natural titanium in all versions. Selected small titanium detail components are purple anodized. Mixed-color configurations are also available where offered.
FlowTrem2 C is the DLC version and should not be renamed Pro.
Compatibility and Ordering
A complete configuration requires five decisions:
- String count: 6 or 7 strings.
- Finish: N, G, BK, C or an offered mixed-color configuration.
- MONOLITH base block: 30, 35 or 42 mm.
- Block length: no spacer, one 2 mm spacer or two 2 mm spacers maximum.
- Mounting system: two-piece studs and bushings or one-piece wood studs.
FlowTrem2 follows the established Floyd Rose Original-style mounting footprint and operating principle. When replacing a factory-installed tremolo built to that footprint, no routing or structural modification is required. The actual route, pivot relationship and block clearance must still be checked on the guitar.
FlowTrem2 does not use thumbwheels.

Every FlowTrem2 includes the complete tremolo assembly, the selected MONOLITH block, one Stainless-Steel FlowBar, one Grade 2 Titanium FlowBar, selected mounting hardware and configuration-specific components. Is FlowTrem2 a conventional Floyd-style tremolo fitted with titanium upgrades?
No. The primary tremolo architecture — including baseplate, saddles, saddle mounting parts, MONOLITH block and principal locking and adjustment components — is designed as one coordinated Grade 5 titanium system.
Is FlowTrem2 a drop-in replacement?
Yes, for guitars built around the established Floyd Rose Original-style mounting footprint. The existing route, pivot geometry and block clearance still need to be compatible.
Why do the V-saddles matter?
Their V geometry creates gauge-dependent support height: thinner strings sit deeper and thicker strings sit higher. It also provides secure centering. The benefit is not the elimination of saddle filing.
Does FlowTrem2 require the Fine-Tuners to be screwed fully down during string changes?
No. That is only an optional way to stabilize the saddles while the guitar is unstrung.
Why is the intonation range longer?
The baseplate bend line is positioned 2 mm farther rearward and the complete geometry provides 2 mm more usable rearward saddle travel than the conventional reference.
Which MONOLITH block should I choose?
Choose from the actual cavity depth, body thickness, spring position and required movement range. Do not select from the nominal length of the previous block alone.
What is the difference between the two included FlowBars?
They have the same geometry. The stainless-steel arm is the more robust all-purpose choice; the Grade 2 titanium arm is substantially lighter in feel.
Is FlowTrem2 C the same as FlowTrem2 Pro?
No. FlowTrem2 C is the correct name for the DLC + Carbon Black PVD version. Pro is not used for this product.
